Outside Please!

Ever since we have had warmer weather, Isaac has been extremely keen to play outside. Even in the past few weeks when we have had almost steady rain, Isaac has been eager to be outdoors. The other evening the rain was really coming down and of course, Isaac asked to go outside. We took his toy boats out to float in the overflowing gutters and had a great time. Isaac is just like a little duck, he loves the rain. He stomps and splashes and truly revels in the freshness that rain brings. When it isn't raining, Isaac loves to dig in our yard. It all began when I was digging out overgrown shrubs to make room for a vegetable garden. Isaac was right in there with me, pulling out roots and dumping dirt everywhere. The garden has long been dug and planted but the digging continues elsewhere. Isaac likes to dig up the rocks and put them in the grass and dig up the grass to put in the flowers and the flowers, well, they usually end up in the weed pile. It will probably be a few years before our yard is the showpiece I envision but in the meantime, we are enjoying watching Isaac 'go to work' on the yard and having a great time. There is plenty of time for showpiece gardens later!

I don't know what it is with little boys and dirt, but they sure like to dig. Caleb and Julian love rocks and sticks too!
