It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

Well, Christmas is just around the corner and the Skinner household is finally getting geared up for Christmas. We just passed our one year marker of living in our house (a real milestone for us, we hardly have lived anywhere this long!) and celebrated by putting up our Christmas tree. It was Isaac's first time helping to decorate the tree. He was very enthusiastic. About a week before we actually bought the tree, he kept asking me where his Christmas tree was. So the Scrooges that his parents are, we finally decided it was time to get our tree up. When we got to the tree lot Isaac could hardly contain himself. He ran from tree to tree saying, "This one, Mummy?" or "This one, Daddy?" After we had picked out a tree and got it strapped onto our car, Isaac was all ready to go back and choose another. Luckily we were able to convince him that one tree was enough.

In decorating the tree, Isaac continued his 'helpfulness'. He put most of the ornaments on the tree and continues to rearrange them everyday. He has informed us that plugging in the tree lights everyday is his job.

Being pretty much housebound in recent days due to the snow and cold, I've also managed to get a little Christmas baking done. Isaac especially liked smashing the peppermints with a hammer for our peppermint bark. Our freezer is filling up so it must be time to take some goodies to our friends and family! Merry Christmas everyone!

Isaac looks so cute in the picture you posted. I loved hearing about him and the tree. Hope that we can score some of your peppermint bark when we see you next week!

I love hearing about how festive Isaac is about Christmas! Caleb and Julian have also really gotten into the holiday spirit this year, they love pointing out all the Christmas lights and have taken to thinking that just about any light is a Christmas light!!
